At Heart of the Hills, volunteers are the heart of our mission to support women facing unplanned pregnancies. Your time, skills, and compassion can make a significant impact on the lives of women and their unborn babies.
We offer a variety of volunteer positions to match your interests and availability. If you have a heart to serve, we have a place for you!
Volunteer Roles
Turkey Trot
This is our annual fundraiser. We start raising funds and coordinating the event in September, and it culminates the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It is a well-oiled machine with all the how-to’s already taken care of. We just need volunteers to help us with various parts of the process. Many hands make light work!
Emailing Prayer Chain Intentions
We have established lists of different church groups in town that want to pray for our clients. This needs to be done monthly. This is a fulfilling job that gives these church women a connection to the lives of the people we serve while maintaining the confidentiality of the client.
Newsletter Support
We need to send out a quarterly newsletter. Someone who is passionate about and informed about what we do and has writing experience would be wonderful. We have a template set up already. We just need to get it ready to go to the printer and then do the labeling and preparation for mailing. This job makes a huge impact on our community, showing how we minister to our clients.
Speaking on Behalf of Heart of the Hills—MOM Center:
If you have public speaking skills and are passionate about and informed about what we do, we need you! This is an important skill for helping to raise the funds we need to continue to serve our clients.
Client Advocate (English and Spanish speaking):
As a client advocate, you will work directly with the women who visit our center. Your role will involve providing emotional support, sharing information about available resources, and helping women explore their options. All training is provided to ensure you are equipped.
Administrative Support
Our administrative volunteers help with essential office tasks, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, data entry, and maintaining client files. This role is perfect for individuals who are organized and detail-oriented and want to support our center’s operations behind the scenes.
Material Assistance Coordinator
This position involves managing our baby boutique, where we provide mothers with essential items like baby clothes, diapers, and formula. You will organize donations, assist clients in selecting items, and ensure that our inventory is well-stocked and organized.
Outreach and Education
Volunteers in this role help with community outreach and education efforts. This can include staffing informational booths at community events, distributing literature, and giving presentations about our services. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy public speaking and engaging with the community.
Parenting Class Instructor
If you have experience in parenting or early childhood education, consider leading our parenting classes. These classes cover a range of topics, including prenatal care, childbirth preparation, and newborn care. Your expertise can help equip new parents with the knowledge and confidence they need.
Fundraising and Event Planning: Our fundraising volunteers assist with planning and executing fundraising events, writing grant proposals, and engaging with donors. This role is ideal for creative individuals with strong organizational and communication skills.
Counseling Support
For those with a background in counseling or social work, volunteering as a support counselor offers an opportunity to provide emotional and spiritual guidance to women in need. Professional training and supervision are provided.
Men’s Mentors
Our Men’s Mentorship program is growing, and we need more mentors to help guide these men/fathers to be the men God intended them to be. The goal here is to form relationships and be positive role models for these men, help them navigate life through a new lens, and see the potential God sees in them.
